Drew League officials intend to meet with Kobe Bryant’s representatives today to discuss Kobe appearing in rematch between the Drew League and Goodman League on September 10th in Los Angeles.
The rematch itself remains an issue since no venues or sponsors have been confirmed. For the trip to DC, The likes of Toronto’s DeMar DeRozan, Oklahoma City’s James Harden, the Clippers’ Craig Smith, Milwaukee’s Brandon Jennings, Washington’s JaVale McGee and Sacramento’s Pooh Jeter paid approximately $2,500 in travel costs
The idea is that involving Kobe Bryant would allow for sponsors to step in and secure a venue large enough to handle the crowds- fans were turned away in DC because the event was oversold.
And since we’re discussing Mamba, today is his 33rd birthday! Happy Birthday Kobe!
