The question all season for the Chicago Bulls. Even throughout the first round of the playoffs has been will Derrick Rose return. Now comes word per Yahoo Sports that sources close to Rose say he won’t return this season, period. The Bulls fought through seven games against the Brooklyn Nets to make it to round two. Even with injuries, the Bulls came together. Whether it was Joakim Noah playing on one good leg or Nate Robinson throwing up into a bucket during game six everyone played a role.
If he’s not returning – and I’m on the side that he shouldn’t – It makes sense that the Bulls/Drose get that information out there. Coming back now might disrupt the chemistry that the current team has developed. And how many times can you keep asking the Bulls players if they think he’ll be back? Plus, do you really want DRose shaking off a year’s worth of rust on LeBron James and the Miami Heat?
For what it’s worth, when Rose was asked about the possibility of playing on Saturday:
“Who knows?” Rose told reporters hours on Saturday. “It’s still up in the air.”
