Looks like Sacramento Kings center Demarcus Cousins decided to let his teammates play 4 on 5 for a play last night against the Golden State Warriors, as he inexplicably took a break on defense.
Not sure if the NBA All-Star thought he was on offense, thought the refs stopped the play early or got distracted at the worst possible time. But for whatever reason, instead of D-ing up his man, Cousins rested his hands on his knees near the three point line and watched Warriors’ Stephen Curry lob an alley-oop pass to Marreese Speights for the dunk.
After the slam, Kings’ players all looked around at each other confused how the easy dunk happened. The reality, Cousins just somehow completely missed the play.
While Cousins falling asleep on D for one play only cost the Kings two points, the Kings still fell to the Warriors 121- 96. The loss marked the King’s ninth defeat in the last 10 games.
