During last season’s NBA playoffs, the Portland Trailblazers shocked many by knocking out the Houston Rockets in the first round. Point guard Damian Lillard was huge in that series hitting a buzzer beating long three to send Dwight Howard and teammates fishing.
Cut to the second round, the Blazers were up against the seasoned San Antonio Spurs who made light work of the team. We know what the Spurs went on to do in the playoffs.
Last night Damian and the Blazers got a bit of revenge, beating the Spurs in triple-overtime, 129-119. After a 10-point fourth quarter, Damian Lillard scored 16 in overtime for a career-high 43 points.
This was the Spurs second triple-overtime defeat in three days.
