Dahntay Jones Fined $10K For Post Game Bump Into Warriors Draymond Green

The L.A. Clippers and Golden State Warriors are beefing once again. The two teams always seem to have some sort of clash when meeting up. Following the nationally televised Clippers loss to the Warriors Sunday in Oakland, Clippers guard Dahntay Jones brushed up against the shoulder of Warriors’ Draymond Green while he was interviewed post game on ABC.

Green’s reaction is hilarious.

Green had a lot to say about the moment to reporters in the locker room, saying Jones motivation for the bump was camera time since he hasn’t been seen on the court.

“I think he wanted a reaction from me, but he don’t play,” Green said, noting that Jones is averaging a career-low 4.6 minutes per game this season.

Jones was fined $10,000 by the league and plans to appeal it. He maintains the bump was not intentional.

“Some people like to draw attention to themselves and make themselves bigger than what they are,” Jones said. “I think it was more him trying to draw attention to himself and wanting to be the reason why somebody else got fined. It is what it is.”

Clippers coach Doc Rivers thinks too much is being made over it.

“Wow, that was such a violent bump,” Rivers said sarcastically. “It was amazing. I told Dahntay, ‘You have to be careful; that was too hard.’ I guess that tough guy in Golden State, that bump was too hard for him, clearly the way he reacted, my goodness. I thought that guy was tough.”

Jones and Green threw a few more shots at each other. Green’s first, in the locker room on Sunday, continued on why Jones didn’t deserve a reaction from him.

“Me getting suspended and him getting suspended, it’s different. If [Jones] gets suspended, they may not even notice.”

Jones said he and Green don’t know each other, and he’s surprised at Green’s reaction to a “brush.”

“I thought it was just a brush, honestly and truthfully,” Jones said. “I may be stronger than what I think I am. I didn’t do it on purpose. I don’t have a reason to do it on purpose. It’s cool. I apologize if I hurt his feelings.”

Tough play in the NBA in 2015.
