Could Paul George Return to the Court this Season?

Indiana Pacers president, Larry Bird, is hopeful Paul George can return to the team after breaking his leg in a gruesome accident during the Team USA Blue vs. White game in August.

Bird told reporters that if George is cleared by doctors and was ready to play, he would like to see the two-time All-Star hit the court.

“It seems like every week Paul is getting better and better,” Bird said. “So if we do have an opportunity to get into the playoffs and [George] can get some games under his belt and get ready to go next year … I always say if a player is ready to play, they gotta play.”

George, who sustained a compound fracture in his right leg, hasn’t played in a game since August 1st, but took to Twitter to possibly hint at a target date for his return. Bird said he had been told George’s full recovery would take seven months. Pacers Coach Frank wouldn’t comment on George’s rehab and level of activity at practice, but did note his activity has steadily progressed. George is already back dunking in practice.

Pacers’ fans might get lucky and have a sighting of #24 on the court in March.
