Charles Barkley says only Kobe, LeBron & Kevin Durant could’ve made the 92 Dream Team

We all know how outspoken Inside the NBA analyst Charles Barkley can be. It’s actually refreshing that Chuck says what’s on his mind instead of worrying about being PC. When asked what he thought about Kobe Bryant’s statement that this current TEAM USA Olympic squad would beat the 92 Dream Team, Chuck responded in usual candid fashion.

“I just started laughing,” Barkley said. “How old is Kobe Bryant? He’s 34? And he’s calling us old? At the time we were only like 28, 29. Michael Jordan and me were the same age. We were both 29. …

“Other than Kobe, Lebron and Kevin Durant, I don’t think anybody else on that team makes our team,” Barkley said.

Granted the currently comprised Team USA gives up a lot of size to the Dream Team. Kobe is older while Jordan at that age was in his prime but who deals with the speed of Russell Westbrook? Kevin Durant’s length and threat from the outside and LeBron?

We’ll never know but it’s fun to kick around theories… well it is as long as you don’t take it too seriously.
