The Boston Celtics are a young team. The Celtics worked hard, but in the end, the Cavs were too much for them.
But Sunday’s game wasn’t a cake walk for the Cavs. First, they lost Kevin Love in the first quarter to a shoulder injury. While fighting for a loose ball Love and Celtics Kelly Olynyk got tangled up, and Love’s left shoulder was pulled out of its socket.
Later, former Celtics big man Kendrick Perkins, and Celtics Jae Crowder has an altercation:
Double technicals were assessed to both Perkins and Crowder. Perkins was not ejected on the play, but was did receive a flagrant 1 call.
I guess JR Smith wanted to show that he’s got the team’s back also. He was ejected from the game after this hit on Crowder.
Kevin Love is out for two weeks, maybe more. When he spoke with the media during post-game, Love indicated that he believed his injury was on purpose. We’ll see what the league thinks soon enough.
Oh, and that guy LeBron, he dropped 27 points.
As for the Boston Celtics, they should be proud. This young team now has playoff experience, and ended their season on a high note, even with the sweep. The Celtics had the second best record since January, behind the Cavs. I’d say that means high hopes for next season.
