I guess those 8 to 10 weeks Baron Davis is expected to need to recuperate from a back issue means nothing to the Knicks. It’s being reported that the Knicks will complete a deal for the amnestied point guard as early as today (Sunday.)
The expected deal is one-year for the Knicks $2.5 Million exception. BD cleared waivers on Friday after the Cleveland Cavaliers cut his loose. Davis immediately took to Twitter to thank the fans and stated that his focus would be his back and getting healthy. So the obvious question, how bad is his back? Was it played up to avoid another team picking him up off waivers? We’ll probably never know but Amar’e Stoudemire didn’t seem interested in Baron’s services when asked last week.
