The next 2 games are extremely important for the New York Knicks. It’s their first up close and personal look at the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat. While Paul Pierce has laughed off the idea that tonight’s match up is a rivalry, it could be a potential playoff match up.
It’s been almost 20 years since the 2 teams have faced off in big games and while the Celtics have been to the finals 2 times in the last 3 years, the Knicks haven’t won a playoff game since the 2000-2001 season (they were last in the playoffs in 2004 when they were swept by the Nets).
But this is a new season and the Knicks have won 8 in a row. Amar’e Stoudemire has scored 30 in each of those 8 wins. Meanwhile, the Celtics are expected to have Shaq back tonight whose been very effective for them when he’s been available. And the Heat have been en fuego (pun intended) since beating the Cavs on December 2nd. They’re currently on a 9 game winning streak and play the Cavs again tonight!
Can’t wait to see if the Knicks are finally REAL.
