Antoine Walker has announced his official retirement from professional basketball. Walker had been playing with the D League’s Idaho Stampede.
Walker won a national title in 1996 with the University of Kentucky. He was then drafted 6th to the Boston Celtics. Walker also won an NBA championship with the Miami Heat in 2006. In his 12-year NBA career, he averaged 17 ppg, 7 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Walker’s career in the last few years have been overshadowed by off the court drama, bankruptcy and lawsuits. His last NBA game was in 2008.
He also paved the way for one of the most popular Basketball Wives cast member, Evelyn Lozada.
Maybe she’ll give him a loan. 🙂 Best of luck to Antoine as he transitions into the next phase of his life.
