1995 NBA co-rookies of the year Grant Hill & Jason Kidd announce retirement

It is the end of an era. The 1995 co-rookies of the year, Jason Kidd and Grant Hill have both announced their retirement from the NBA. Grant Hill was originally drafted at #3 by the Detroit Pistons in 1994. The 18-year veteran and seven-time All-Star, also played for the Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns and last season with the Los Angeles Clippers. Ankle injuries derailed a good chunk of Hill’s career. Once dubbed as the next to wear the crown after Jordan, Hill’s career averages; 16.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.2 steals.

Jason Kidd was drafted second in the 1994 draft by the Dallas Mavericks. During his 18-year career, Kidd played for the New Jersey Nets, Phoenix Suns, another stint with the Mavs that produced an NBA championship and lastly this season with the Knicks. 10 All-Star game appearances, drama with the “three J’s” (Jamaal Mashburn, Kidd and Jimmy Jackson) over Toni Braxton and his hurricane ex-wife Jourmana Kidd. Kidd also has 2 Olympic Gold medals and one solo rap album appearance.
