The Dodgers outfield has been crowed for the last few seasons with Carl Crawford, Andre Ethier, Matt Kemp and Yasiel Puig. It was clear that someone had to go. The best trading chip was Kemp. Kemp’s last two season have been marked by injury, however his comeback last season earned him second place in voting for the National League MVP.
Kemp will now take his talents south of LA to San Diego. The Dodgers have traded Matt to the San Diego Padres along with backup catcher Tim Federowicz. The Dodgers will receive catcher Yasmani Grandal, right-hander Joe Wieland and another pitcher, possibly right-hander Zach Eflin, according to U-T San Diego.
Somehow, I don’t think Matt will be there for the duration of his contract. Matt’s old agent, Dave Stewart is the current GM for the Arizona Diamondbacks
