WWE star Darren Young “I’m gay and successful” [video]

A professional wrestler casually flung open his closet door this week while at LAX. WWE star Darren Young was at LAX where TMZ cameras caught him. Asked if he thought a professional wrestler could succeed in the WWE, Darren laughed and said:

“Absolutely. Look at me. I’m a WWE superstar and to be honest with you, I’ll tell you right now, I’m gay. And I’m happy. I’m very happy.”

Darren is now the first openly gay wrestler ever at WWE … and the first headlining wrestler ever to come out while still signed to a major promotion.

Darren appeared on the “Today Show” Friday to discuss his announcement and he’ll be in LA at the Staples Center on Sunday for the WWE’s “SummerSlam” event.

Darren – whose real name is Fred- has been in a relationship for two years with a guy named Nick. The couple live together in Florida.
