Usain Bolt breaks Olympic record winning Gold in 100M

Usain Bolt proves once again that he deserves the title of “fastest man.” Bolt becomes the second man in history to win back-to-back 100m titles, running a 9.63 breaking his own Olympic record. He was only 0.05sec off the world record.

This final will also go down in the history books as the fastest Olympic 100m final. The Silver medal went to Bolt’s training partner Yohan Blake who ran a 9.75 and Bronze going to USA’s Justin Gatlin. Gatlin ran a personal best of 9.79.

The start of the race featured a bizarre scene as someone in the stands threw a bottle on the track before the race started. No one was injured and the suspect was apprehended. What possible reason could someone have for wanting to throw a bottle at the racers?

And salute to Bolt for pausing his own interview to respect the US’s national anthem being played as Sonya Richards-Ross was receiving her Gold medal:

That’s class!
