Holly Holm Knocks Out Ronda Rousey

UFC fighter Ronda Rousey had never lost a UFC match. But Saturday night that all changed after Holly Holm knocked out “Rowdy” Rousey with a second round KO in Melbourne, Australia.

Holm’s straight punches and kicks seemed to be the difference. It was apparent that this match wasn’t going to be a 15-second Instagram video.

Former undefeated champs get the Meme business too. Especially someone like Rousey, who some fans felt had grown arrogant. Check her Instagram comments from the day before the fight.

Rousey had clearly studied her opponent. In a clip from her October interview with Jimmy Fallon, Rousey spoke of Holly Holm’s boxing experience, “take down defense” and “kick to the head knock outs.”

 

Too bad Ronda didn’t remember those things Saturday night. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Ronda’s comeback is going to be amazing.
