Floyd Mayweather Jr. hit the red carpet on Sunday for the “9th annual Watson Charity Basketball Game.” The event was held at Cal State Northridge and a host of celebrities and sports stars came out to support.
Floyd was asked to share his thoughts on Adrien Broner’s loss the night before to Marcos Maidana.
“Adrien Broner is a true champion, I love him, I take my hat off to him. Because it’s crazy how people are. When you’re at the top everyone wants to ride the wave and be by your side, as soon as you take a loss, everybody wants to talk bad about you. It comes with the territory. When we signed up for this, you’re competing. Someone has to win, someone has to lose. I love Adrien Broner. I want him to keep his head up and I’m going to stand behind him.”
Sugar Shane Mosley shared a similar sentiment.
“He loss but I take the good out of it. I see a young kid that had a lot of heart. he got knocked down but got back up, and fought all the way to the end.”
Shane says his next career move is to begin training fighters.
Check out who else was in the building; former NBA star Gilbert Arenas, Academy Award winning actor, Jamie Foxx, Basketball Wives Shaunie O’Neal and Malaysia Pargo, rapper The Game and his fiancé Tiffny Cambridge, singers Tank, Mario, rapper Tyga, boxers Kid Chocolate, Anthony Dirrell – who added that Broner’s loss would humble him and he needs to focus on boxing- and Danny Garcia, plus a bunch of others. All in support of raising funds for cancer.
