Floyd Mayweather Jr. Says Rematch With Manny Pacquiao Won’t Happen

Floyd Mayweather Jr. doesn’t seem to be quite as agreeable about a rematch with Manny Pacquiao now that the dust has settled. Just days after telling Stephen A. Smith via text message that he would grant Manny a rematch after his shoulder healed, Money May has changed his mind.

Floyd is pissed because he feels Pac’s camp isn’t giving him the credit for beating Manny. Instead they are focusing on the shoulder. That doesn’t sit well with the 48-0 champ.

“Did I text Stephen A. Smith and say I will fight him again? Yeah, but I change my mind. At this particular time, no, because he’s a sore loser and he’s a coward. If you lost, accept the loss and say, ‘Mayweather, you were the better fighter,”

Ironically enough, Floyd foresaw the future of his eventual outcome with Manny. In this 2009 interview, Floyd said he was in a no-win situation fighting Manny. That people would say it was a boring fight if Floyd outboxed him.

Throwback to November 15, 2009… As a visionary, I predicted both the outcome and what people would say #TBT

Floyd says he couldn’t tell Manny was injured during the fight, and that he’s lost respect for him because he feels he’s making excuses about the loss.

“I’m not going to buy into the bulls— … and I don’t want the public to buy into the bulls—,” Mayweather said. “He lost. He knows he lost. I lost a lot of respect for him after all of this.”

Gray asked Mayweather if he could detect a problem with Pacquiao’s right arm during the fight, to which Mayweather answered, “Absolutely not. He was fast. His left hand was fast. His right hand was fast and he was throwing them both fast and strong. Excuses, excuses.”

But who knows what the future holds for next year. Plus, if the money is enough, I bet Floyd could be coaxed into making Pacquiao his fifth and final match.
