In the early 90’s, the Seattle Supersonics featured the one-two punch of future NBA legends Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton. Kemp was known as “Reign Man” because of his crazy, powerful dunks he’s “rain” down on opponents.

Payton, was in the beginning stages of what would become a Hall of Fame career, earning the nickname “The Glove” for his lock down defense, regularly among the NBA leaders in steals, assists, and scoring.

With 15 All Star nods between them, the dynamic duo played together in Seattle from 1990 to 1997, making it to the 1996 NBA Finals where they loss to Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.

The two reunited recently to watch their sons – Gary Payton II and Shawn Kemp Jr.- battle it out in a PAC-12 match-up between Washington and Oregon State.
