NBA issues video of flopping examples featuring Dwyane Wade, Tony Parker & more [video]

The NBA rolls out it’s new rules for flopping this season. Per the NBA, a “flop” is an attempt by a player to convince officials to call fouls by exaggerating the contact made during a play. The main focus will be a player’s reaction to contact and if it’s consistent with the force of the hit…

Ok, need to see an example? The NBA has put together a little video on flopping that is curiously Clipper heavy. Some of the players featured include ex-Clipper-current Net Reggie Evans, Spurs Tony Parker, Dwyane Wade and more.

What I find hilarious about this video, the narrator! He sounds like he was plucked straight from some 50’s propaganda film. And why won’t they say the players names? If you’re going to feature them you may as well name them.

Flops will be reviewed after the game and assesed a fine based on the following scale.

First violation is a warning after that:

Violation 2: $5,000 fine
Violation 3: $10,000 fine
Violation 4: $15,000 fine
Violation 5: $30,000 fine
