24 hours hasn’t gone by since James Harden was traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder and he’s already come out and said he plans to sign an extension with the team. Harden was courtside on Sunday for the Rockets open scrimmage. He said he’d let his agent handle all the details but he was ready to make a long term commitment before Wednesday’s deadline. Asked if he was ready to step up to the challenge of being a franchise player, Harden said “Yes I am.” So there you have it!

On going from a team who is a legitimate title contender to one that’s rebuilding, Harden had this to say:

“It’s definitely different, but it’s something that we have to learn to deal with,” Harden said. “This is a business and everything happens for a reason. I’m just going to try to play hard and win games.”

It’s a new day… Just like that, Jeremy Lin isn’t the focus with the Rockets anymore.
