At least one piece of good news has emerged in my sport’s world today. LA Dodgers star Matt Kemp is close to re-signing with the club for eight years and a total of $160 million.
Although the team has filed for bankruptcy as part of owner Frank McCourt’s divorce settlement, the move does not have to be cleared by courts.

Dodgers Matt Kemp, Clayton Kershaw and Andre Ethier received their Gold Glove in New York on Friday night. Matt didn’t get too comfortable on the east coast though. He flew right back to the west coast to participate in the Dream 2 Acheive charity basketball game taking place in San Francisco. Other participants include 49ers Vernon Davis, Matt Barnes, Earl Watson, Dorell Wright and Ryan Hollins.

Dodgers star Matt Kemp was spotted out in London with his ex- Rihanna last month. But Kemp said there is no reunion, that she’s one of his “best friends” and they were just hanging out.

Frank McCourt and the Dodgers have agreed to auction off the team to the highest bidder. I’d like that person to be Mark Cuban. I know the team is sort of a mess but I think he can restore it to it’s former glory days. Here are a few reasons that I think Cuban should go for it.

Matt Kemp has won the Hank Aaron Award for Top Offensive Player In National League. Although the Dodgers 2011 season was largely a lost year, Matt Kemp has been truly amazing this season. The award is given to the top offensive performer in each league, and is voted on by a panel of Hall of Fame members plus the fans who vote online on MLB.com.
This year’s Hall of Fame panel included Aaron, Joe Morgan, Roberto Alomar, Tony Gwynn, Paul Molitor, Willie McCovey, Billy Williams and Robin Yount.

I cannot believe Snoop Dogg is 40. The rapper celebrated the occasion Wednesday night in Hollywood at Rolling Stone Lounge. Locked out NBA players Baron Davis and Russell Westbrook were in attendance along with Dodgers star, Matt Kemp. Also on hand to help Snoop celebrate, Dr. Dre, Too $hort, The Lady of Rage, Warren G, Far East Movement, DJ Quik and Tyrese.

Dodgers star Matt Kemp had a fantastic season for a subpar team but at least he gets the girl in the end. Kemp was spotted in London with his ex, pop star Rihanna after leaving Stringfellows, a gentleman’s club in the city.
