Lebron James has toyed with making an appearance in the dunk contest for years. Once again he’s said he’s “on the fence about participating. I know it’s something a lot of people would love to see. After all, both MJ and Kobe did it (and won.)

The Heat are ON FIRE. Dwyane Wade has returned from injury to quiet the rumors that the Heat are better without him. Chris Bosh has taken his game up a notch. And of course, there’s King James. The NBA always has Hardwood Classic nights where they feature teams in their throwback jerseys. For an expansion franchise like the Heat- started in 1988- They salute a former ABA franchise, the Miami Floridians. The Heat are rocking the jerseys from the 71-72 season. If there is only 1 topic in basketball I wish I never had to hear a discussion on again, it would be the Michael Jordan-Kobe Bryant debate. At one point it seemed every 6’6 guard that was athletic had the “next Jordan” title hoisted on them. Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, LeBron James etc.

Dwyane Wade was thrown an elaborate 30th birthday celebration by his girlfriend Gabrielle Union in Miami. Of course there were star studded performances. The Heat’s very own, DJ Irie scored video of a freestyle by rapper Common as well as a Happy birthday performance by Kelly Rowland plus Rick Ross and T.I.

Gabrielle brought Kelly Rowland on stage giving her a lot of praise! And LeBron also took over the mic to lead the crowd in wishing DWade happy birthday.

Dwyane Wade turns 30 on Tuesday but the party got started in Miami over the weekend. Sunday morning there was a surprise brunch at The W South Beach, Sunday evening a red carpet party in the courtyard at the Setai Hotel and the evening rapped up at Mynt Lounge which included a performance by rapper Rick Ross. LeBron James feels that he and Broncos QB Tim Tebow have a lot in common. LeBron of course has been under media scrutiny since he was in high school and has only gotten worst since his arrival to south beach. Tebow’s unwavering faith in God and dedication to his religion coupled with some miraculous comebacks have also made him a polarizing sports figure.
