Late Thursday night it was announced that Hip-Hop pioneer Dr. Dre and Apple are on the verge of a deal for “Beats By Dre”  for $3.2 billion.

Beats has become a staple in the sports world, with successful and timely commercials for Nets Kevin Garnett  and Seattle Seahawks cornerback, Richard Sherman.

“Beats by Dre’s” early introduction into sports was during the 2008 Olympic games in Beiging, the “Redeem team” which had the All-Star talent of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard and the rest stepped off the plane, wearing Beats by Dre headphones.

The idea to give them to the team as a gift was brought together by LMR CEO Maverick Carter- Lebron James’ best friend, and Intercope Chairman Jimmy Iovine.

After capital gains taxes, Dre’s estimated worth would fall somewhere in the $800 million mark. But that still comfortably pushing him to the number one spot on Forbes Wealthiest in Hip-Hop whenever the deal goes through.

This video was posted to Facebook and later deleted. Dr Dre and Tyrese are celebrating Dre as the first hip-hop billionaire.  Tyrese even hit his c-walk.

They said West up!
