DeSean Jackson On Board As Producer Of Tupac Shakur Biopic

LeBron James isn’t the only athlete with the desire to cross over into the entertainment side for business. Washington Redskins’ wide receiver DeSean Jackson has announced he’s on board as a producer for a Tupac Shakur biopic, “All Eyez On Me.”

Jackson posted the message on Instagram Thursday morning.

Been a long Process but I’m proud to announce Its finally that time to present the Tupac Movie !! Shoutout to my Big bro @lthutton We breaking records with this one !! History in the making .. Glad to say I’m A producer on this movie ???????? giving the ppl what they want .. Business is Business

Coming off of the success of “Straight Outta Compton” there is naturally a push to develop this project quickly. The film was originally set to have John Singleton direct it, but reportedly Singleton and Executive Producer LT Hutton had a difference of opinion on the direction of the production. John felt the producers weren’t “respectful” of Pac’s legacy. Now famed music video director Benny Boom takes over those duties.

Boom directed some of your favorite videos from the 2000’s era, back when videos had million dollar budgets. Some of my personal favorites include:

T-Pain “Buy You a drink”

Diddy featuring Usher “I Need a Girl”

Ciara “1, 2 Step”

He also directed the cult film classic, “Next Day Air.”
