Want to know the top 10 NFL teams rated by attractiveness? The Wall Street Journal requested Ursinus College in Pennsylvania put together a study to analyze the facial structure of a sampling of 320 NFL starters (five offensive and five defensive players from each team.) They also threw in two of the most-photographed personalities on any team, the owner and the head coach.
According to this sample, the most attractive position in the NFL is the kicker.
I can’t name one kicker…
The least attractive position was wide receiver.
I can name a few attractive wideouts :shrug:
One of the most interesting things about the study, the vast majority of NFL players rank 10% higher in facial symmetry than the average Joe. They also were found to be better looking than other athletes. They also measured the NBA’s All-Star team and found it was less attractive than this sample of NFL players.
But anyway, on to the results:
- Buffalo Bills – does it matter that their one of the worst teams in the league? I guess they’re cuties. They aren’t in contention to win my NFL heart though.
- Cleveland Browns – Yet another team not in the running for the “Golden Stiletto”
- New Orleans Saints- finally someone that made my through the first round of eliminations to become my “NFL team”
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- Atlanta Falcons
- Cincinnati Bengals
- St Louis Rams- Ok, two teams from the Stiletto Jill challenge
- Indianapolis Colts
- Detroit Lions

To measure each subject’s attractiveness, the researchers analyzed their photograph with a computer program that measures facial symmetry, or how closely the two halves of a person’s face match up. Research suggests this is a reliable measure of how attractive a person is perceived to be. it also suggests that looks are a fair predictor of a person’s career success. A 1994 study found that more-attractive “symmetrical” people are paid about 5% more than the average person while more-homely “asymmetrical” people earn up to 10% less.
