The Assist: Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino gets tatted [photo]

Louisville men’s basketball head coach Rick Pitino made good on his promise to get a tattoo after the Cardinals won the NCAA national championship last month. The 60-year-old grandfather got his only piece of ink on his left shoulder blade, a Lousiville “L” with 2013 National Champions included in the artwork.

According to Paul Myerberg of USA Today, Pitino told his team in the middle of the season that if they went on to win the title, he would get inked up. Perhaps Pitino was just joking and using it as a motivational tool at the time, but it worked and he is holding up his end of the bargain.

I really would’ve preferred not to see him shirtless but I guess that’s the only way you can showcase the ink, huh.
