Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez involved in murder investigation

New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is connected to the murder of man whose body was found near is $1.3 million home. Investigators have executde a search warrant on an Enterprise rental car registered Hernandez. The car was near the body of a man who was found murdered Monday evening.

Police spent hours at the home of the football player Tuesday night, taking evidence photos and removing boxes. There was also a search of a car parked in the driveway, a 2012 Chrysler 200. The license plate connected that car to Enterprise rental as well per ABC News.

Hernandez is cooperating and with police and the last official word was that he is not a suspect in the murder.

The case began with the discovery Monday around 5:30 p.m. of the body of a 27-year-old Boston man who was shot in the head, the sources said. The man was described as an “associate” of Hernandez, and the body was in a clearing near John Dietsch Boulevard, not far from an Enterprise car that had been rented by Hernandez, sources said.

The murdered man in question might be linked to Hernandez via his girlfriend’s sister. More details as they become available.
