Nuggets JaVale McGee thinks having ADD makes him a fun guy

JaVale-McGee

Nuggets big man JaVale McGee is quirky. From his alter ego of Pierre- which he doesn’t bring out to play anymore but I wouldn’t mind a come back – to his habit of RT himself on Twitter, it’s easy to see that McGee is “different.” How does “different” manifest itself on the court? Well McGee has been a frequent contributor to Shaq’s “Inside the NBA” segment, “Shaqtin a fool” with plays like passing to no one, in-bounding the ball while still, in bounds and more but it turns out there might just be an explanation for all the random behavior. JaVale has ADD, not referred to as ADHD. And, he likes it.

“I have extreme ADD. They tried to put me on Ritalin, but I wouldn’t do it. I just didn’t want to take it. I was young (when it was diagnosed); it was a long time ago. But, yeah, it’s definitely fun having ADD. It’s extremely fun. I’m not boring.”

JaVale continues to grow as a player and absolutely shows bright spots in his game while still managing to entertain with his antics. Most recently he autographed the ball after blocking a shot. I’m sure he’ll live up to that 4-year $44 million contract the Nuggets gave him last summer.
