Former MLB All-Star To Appear On VH1’s Celebrity Rehab

Celebrity rehab is big business just ask Charlie Sheen, “Winning, DUH!” -sorry I just had to get my reference in because we’ve almost reached the point of saturation with “Sheenisms” and well, I like it…

Former Mets 4 time All-Star Dwight “Doc” Gooden will join the cast of Vh1’s Celebrity Rehab. Dwight’s career highlights include winning 2 World Series with the Mets, 1985 National League Cy Young Award winner and 1984 National League Rookie of the Year. But his battles with substance and alcohol abuse date back to the mid 80’s and most recently was arrested in March of 2010 after driving under the influence, crashed and fled the scene all while having his young child in the vehicle with him.

This season of Celebrity Rehab is particularly light on celebs; in addition to Dwight there will be Michael Lohan (Lindsay’s Dad), Jeremy Jackson (Baywatch), Bai Ling, and Tareq and Michaele Salahi(The White House gate crashers)… yeah, my thoughts exactly, but helping anyone battle addiction is certainly more important than what the participants Q rating is.  I hope everyone is truly there to get help and not have a rebirth via reality TV.
