Deion Sanders charged with assault; Pilar Sanders released from jail

Ready for the next chapter in the Deion and Pilar Sanders divorce drama? Pilar Sanders was released from jail on Tuesday and a 60-day temporary restraining order has been issued barring her from returning to the Dallas-area home the two share.

The twist, Deion has also been charged with misdemeanor simple assault.

Police issued a statement late Tuesday saying further investigation led to citations against both Sanders and his estranged wife, Pilar, who still live together in a palatial home in Prosper.

Police say the charge doesn’t warrant arrest.

Both Pilar and Deion are maintaining their innocence at this point.

I’m a full-time mom, 100 percent for my children,” she said, her voice breaking. “And I just haven’t been given a fair shake.”

A gag order was placed on both sides in the divorce trial and Pilar’s lawyer believes Deion violated that order by tweeting about this incident. He has since removed the photo he tweeted of him and his two sons from Pilar allegedly filling out police reports following the altercation.

Pilar’s lawsuit of $200 million against Deion’s oldest daughter, Deiondra goes to trial in September.
