USC Football Coach Steve Sarkisian Asked To Take Leave Of Abscence

USC football coach Steve Sarkisian is taking a forced leave of absence, per the Los Angeles Times. Sarkisian allegedly showed up to team facilities drunk Sunday morning.

During preseason, Sarkisian had to apologize after appearing drunk at the “Salute to Troy” booster event.  Athletics director Pat Haden had to pull Sarkisian off the stage.

Sarkisian apologized, claiming he mixed meds with alcohol, but denied having an alcohol problem.

The circumstances surrounding the leave of absence weren’t announced. Offensive coordinator Clay Helton will take over as interim head coach per reports.
