Former Seahawk Michael Robinson confirms fight between Percy Harvin and Golden Tate

More former Seattle Seahawks are speaking about the issues with Percy Harvin and various members of the team. Harvin was traded to the New York Jets on Friday less than two years after his arrival.

Former Seahawk Michael Robinson is now working as a member of NFL media.  Sunday morning on NFL GameDay First, Robinson  confirmed that there was a fight between Harvin and Golden Tate the week of the Super Bowl, and he helped break it up.

“Something did go on at the Super Bowl that a lot of fans don’t know about,” Robinson said. “There was an altercation in the locker room between Percy Harvin and Golden Tate. It saddens me because I was a leader on that team and to know that this information got out — usually Pete Carroll-coached teams, this type of thing stays in-house. There was an issue, I physically broke it up, I was there, you would have to ask those guys what they were arguing about, I’m not at liberty to talk about it.”

There were rumors that Golden Tate was having a relationship with QB Russell Wilson’s wife. Some have theorized that was what the drama stemmed from, but Golden denied those reports on his Twitter last April. Robinson confirmed the altercation took place the day before the Seahawks beat the Broncos to win the Super Bowl.

“We kind of talked about it afterwards,” he said. “I talked to Percy and Golden and they ironed their situation out. But again, you’ve been in locker rooms, these type of things happen all the time. Families fight. That is what is so disturbing. Again, this type of information usually doesn’t get out of that locker room. Why it comes out now, almost a year after the Super Bowl is mind-boggling. “

It’s not that puzzling, both guys have moved on to other teams. People are asking what went wrong, now they’re getting clear answers. No threat to team chemistry if the main parties aren’t in the locker room anymore.
