USA Basketball National Team member Paul George (Indiana Pacers) suffered a right leg, open tibia-fibula fracture during Friday’s USA Basketball Showcase in Las Vegas. George was immediately transferred to Sunrise Hospital (Las Vegas, Nev.) where he underwent successful surgery to fix the fracture. Dr. David Silverberg, Dr. Joseph Yu and USA Basketball team physician Riley Williams (Brooklyn Nets, Hospital for Special Surgery), were present for the surgery. Paul is resting comfortably and is expected to remain hospitalized for approximately three days.

George suffered the injury during a fastbreak led by James Harden, PG went for the block on defense and landed awkwardly. This will certainly raise the questions again by some owners on the benefit of their stars playing for Team USA.

George has already sent out his first post surgery Tweet, thanking everyone for the well-wishes and support.
