The injury bug has hit the Lakers point guards. Steve Blake will be out for six weeks after suffering an elbow ligament tear. The Lakers are already without Steve Nash and back up point guard Jordan Farmar is a few weeks away from returning after a hamstring tear sidelined him two weeks ago.

So the Lakers will try a different sort of line up Friday when they face off against the Oklahoma City Thunder. One that sees Kobe Bryant starting at point guard. The first run at the point against Russell Westbrook will be tricky, but in my vision for Kobe’s career AA – that’s after Achilles – is that he embraces his point guard skills.

We’ll just have to wait and see how it all plays out.
