JR Smith says he’s done with the “wearing all black stuff” after Knicks lose game 5 to Celtics [photos]

Members of the New York Knicks decided to wear all black to game five of their playoff series against the Boston Celtics. The idea came from Kenyon Martin who said that it would be the Celtics “funeral.”

Knicks bruiser Kenyon Martin told his teammates after Game 4 defeat to prepare for a Celtics funeral.

‘The guy was mouthing off before the game,’ Kenyon Martin said. ‘He told me, ‘You’re not dancing at my funeral today.’ […] ‘We’re ending it Wednesday,’ Martin said. He even made it a point to tell teammates what to wear when the Knicks look to win this series in five, then get ready for the winner of Indiana-Atlanta. ‘Wear black,’ he said. ‘Funeral colors.’”

Well, we all know how that turned out with the Knicks losing, 92-86.

Following the loss, “Sixth Man of the Year” JR Smith said he was done with the whole all black movement because they came to the Celtics funeral but ended up “getting buried.” Cute idea, but next time just keep it a team secret. That way it makes for a great story after the fact.

Game 6 is Friday in Boston.
