The Cowboys say goodbye to two players via free agency on Wednesday. TE Martcellus Bennet has signed a one-year deal with the New York Giants for $2.5 million. The Cowboys also lost Laurent Robinson. The receiver signed a 5-year $32 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars. $14 million of that contract is guaranteed.
Detroit Lions give Calvin Johnson largest contract in NFL history

The Detroit Lions have locked up WR Calvin Johnson for the next 7 years. Johnson and the Lions have come to terms on a $132 million deal, with $60 million guaranteed. That officially gives Johnson the biggest contract in NFL history, for a non-QB position surpassing Larry Fitzgerald’s contract with the Cardinals.
Randy Moss signs a 1-year deal with the San Francisco 49′ers

The 49′ers and 35-year old Randy Moss came to terms on a year deal Monday. Moss did not play the entire 2011 season but after a brief retirement stint. But in 2010 he spent time with the Patriots, Vikings and Titans. You remember how well that worked out right?
NY Jets extend Mark Sanchez’s contract for 3 additional years

The New York Jets have extended QB Mark Sanchez for three more years. The deal comes shortly after free agent Peyton Manning made it clear that the Jets were not on the list for potential suitors of his services.

The Redskins have acquired the second overall pick in the draft from the St. Louis Rams. In return, the Rams will receive the Redskin’s sixth pick plus, two future first-round picks and additional selections, one of which is believed to be a second-rounder.

The Peyton Manning era appears to be coming to an end for the Indianpolis Colts. A press conference is scheduled for Wednesday morning with Manning and Colts owner Jim Irsay. The expectation is that they will announce what’s been speculated about for weeks, that the Colts and Manning will part ways.
