Serena Williams Dominates In Her 1st Match Of The U.S. Open

Serena Williams dominated Bojana Jovanovski 6-1, 6-1 in their first-round match in the U.S. Open. Williams is seeded 28th after missing the last year with injuries.

Serena also had a message for the those that continue to bring up her infamous match from two years ago.

“Last time I played here, I went out with a bang. I came in with as bang [last night], so it’s all good,” Williams said. “It was two years ago, and last year I didn’t play. I’m telling you, out of sight, out of mind for me. You guys should try it sometime. I’m just Serena…”

“I’m just here to play. Everyone’s been playing all year: I haven’t,” Williams said. “I’ve played like five tournaments. I don’t think that’s usually a favorite in as Grand Slam.”

I LOVE it! Congrats Serena, I hope she’s the last one standing when it’s all said and done!
