80% of NBA Players Smoke Weed According to Jay Williams

Former NBA star and current college basketball analyst Jay Williams thinks the majority of the NBA smokes weed. Williams believes that number to be around 80%. He also thinks its time for the league to reevaluate how it looks at marijuana.

“It’s easy for doctors to prescribe you Oxycontin and look I was addicted to it for five plus years so I know,” Williams tells FOXBusiness.com. “But when you say marijuana you get a reaction, ahhh, it’s a gateway drug.”

While Williams numbers are opinion based, but pretty accurate, the point about other drugs that are “legal” and equally as popular, being used now with no questions. Think Future, “I just took a perc now I’m on another level”

With more and more states legalizing marijuana for both medicinal and recreational purposes, the NBA, NFL and MLB should all be tweaking their policies.

The Association is a progressive league, and commissioner Adam Silver has shown a willingness to explore non-traditional avenues in business. It remains to be seen how big of an issue this will be when the CBA opens up for negotiations in a couple of summers.
