Broncos Antonio Smith Accused Of Sexual Child Abuse

Current Denver Bronco defensive linemen Antonio Smith is being investigated for child abuse, that is “sexual in nature” according to the Fort Bend County (Texas) Sheriff’s Office.

“In November 2014, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a criminal allegation against Antonio Smith,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “According to Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls, the allegation against Mr. Smith was sexual in nature. The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division conducted a thorough investigation and presented the information to the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office for review in February, 2015.”

Per TMZ Sports, the allegations against Smith – a 33-year-old NFL vet – involve a family member. According to a source, the alleged incidents of “repeated sexual contact,” began in December of 2010 through January 2014.The incidents took place at Smith’s home in Houston, while he played for the Texans

Smith recently signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Broncos. Only his $500,000 signing bonus is fully guaranteed, providing there are no violations of the league’s personal conduct policy.

The Broncos just became aware of the allegations are investigating, per a statement released by the team. No charges have been filed against Smith at this time.
