Does it seem as if Achilles Tendon injures are becoming more prevalent in the NBA? Thursday night Portland Trailblazers starting guard Wesley Matthews became the latest player to suffer this injury.

Matthews went down with about 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter during a nationally televised game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Matthews has missed only 13 NBA games since entering the NBA in 2009 as an undrafted free agent with the Utah Jazz, which earned him the nickname of “Iron Man.”

Trail Blazers win 94-75 over the Mavericks.
