Mayweather-Pacquiao Tickets Starting at $1000 and Celebs Won’t Get Comped Tickets

Mayweather-Pacquiao

If you want to see one of the most anticipated boxing matches in history, it’s going to cost you…

The May 2nd showdown between Floyd Maywaeather and Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas is slated to shatter pay-per-view and attendance records. And with those projected numbers comes high ticket prices.

Dan Rafael of ESPN suggests it may cost you a small fortune to be ringside for the Mayweather-Pacquiao match. According to Rafael, as few as 1,000 tickets — with the cheapest ticket being $1,000 — will be sold to the public.

The general public won’t be the only ones coming out of pocket to see what is being billed as the fight of the century. Celebs are also going to have to cough up the cash to get tickets, and if you’re a high-roller you’ll need at least a $250,000 credit line with MGM Grand to even be considered for tickets.

According to Top Rank’s CEO Bob Arum, who promotes Pacquiao, everybody, even celebs are going to have to pay to see the fight.

“Nobody is going to get these tickets without paying for them. The type of calls I’m getting, it’s unbelievable. I could spend the rest of the day on the phone and sell out the entire place. The biggest block [of tickets] is with MGM. When I get a call from a celebrity, or I assume when Mayweather gets a call from a celebrity, we immediately send them to MGM and tell them to fill the order,” Arum told ESPN 1100 Radio.

Not a high-roller or on celebrity status? No worries, you can catch the fight from home for $99.999 on pay-per-view like the rest of us earthly beings.
