Weekly Rewind: Why LeBron James Returning To Cleveland Reminds Me Of Goldie In “The Mack” [video]

Weekly-Rewind-With-Jill-Munroe

For this week’s edition of The Weekly Rewind, I’ve added a video element for the topic. I’m always being asked why I don’t do more videos so this is the start of weekly videos where I’ll use your feedback to create the topics.

This week’s topic was obvious, LeBron James returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers after spending the last four seasons in Miami. I break down why The King’s return has a lot in common with the blaxploitation classic, “The Mack.” The 1973 film starred Max Julien and Richard Pryor.

Goldie returns from five years at the state pen and winds up king of the pimping game. Trouble comes in the form of two corrupt white cops and a crime lord who wants him to return to the small time.

Some of the language is NSFW or tender ears.
