LeBron James was set to make his acting debut three years ago in a film he would produce called “Ballers.” The premise of the film surround his fantasy camp and the men that attend. The concept was moved to the back burner after King James’ image took a hit with his “decision” to leave the Cavs and take his talents to South Beach.

Well now the concept is back with a bit of a twist, comedian Kevin Hart is now in the fold and will also star in the film. The fantasy camp concept is still in play, with Kevin Hart taking on a role as LeBron’s brother who has always lived in his shadow.

“Ballers” will find Hart playing LeBron’s brother, who gets a chance to emerge from James’ towering shadow when he attends a fantasy basketball camp in Miami.

Hart and James will executive produce with Maverick Carter and Imagine’s Kim Roth.

Production is scheduled to start in the summer of 2014. In the meantime, Hart will co-write the comedy with his frequent collaborators Joey Wells, Chris Spencer and Harry Ratchford. Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel were the original writers on the project along with Peter Steinfeld.

I knew there was something bubbling when Kevin Hart ended up in Lebron’s Galaxy commercial. Looks like both LeBron and DWade will be Hollywood… at least for the summer. DWade recently signed a deal with Fox to produce a sitcom based on his life as an NBA star whose also a single dad.
