Sixers Royce White said before the start of NBA training camp that he had plans to travel with the team to Europe for preseason action despite his anxiety disorder. Looks as if Royce was ready for that leap of faith, but the team wasn’t. Instead, White stayed in Philly while the team hits up Spain and England.
“It really was just based on our team doctor giving me and Sam (Henkie, Sixers GM) and the club advice that it may be best for him to remain at home,” Sixers coach Brett Brown said of White’s absence. “You know we are with him. We will support and help him.”
Looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see what Royce has to offer on the hardwood. I do question how Royce will be able to bond with his teammates missing out on a week of preseason.
