One thing that I’m a big advocate of is having a transition plan. Especially when discussing professional athletes. Many aren’t prepared for life outside of the pros. It’s shocking when they go from Mr. Popularity to nobody in 2.5 seconds. Today’s example, Antoine Walker. Over the past few years, Antoine’s financial downfall has been well documented, but what is rarely mentioned – unless you count references of Evelyn Lozada bouncing – are the social adjustments Toine had to make. Recently on Twitter, the former NBA All-Star lamented the fact that his phone doesn’t ring anymore.

Just last month Antoine mentioned how women are the first to leave when things go wrong.

You know what I wonder? How many times did Antoine press ignore when he was “popping” on people who were genuinely his friend? Cause let’s not act like that doesn’t happen too. Lessons learned. cues up Whodini’s “Friends”

‘Friends, how many of us have them? Friends, ones we can depend on’

Or maybe, TLC’s “What about your Friends”

‘What about your friends? Will they stand their ground, will they let you down?
What about your friends? Are they gonna be low down, will they ever be around or will they turn their backs on you?’

Wait, I have the perfect song, Fabolous

‘When the money goes, will the honeys stay?’
