Former NBA player and the original S Curl representative, Kendall Gill was removed from his on-air analyst duties for Comcast SportsNet Chicago following a physical altercation with another analyst. Gill, a Chicago Bulls analyst allegedly punched Big Ten Network analyst Tim Doyle on Tuesday night. The incident occurred after a taping of “Sports Talk Live” in the Comcast SportsNet studio newsroom.

According to sources, Gill confronted Doyle in the CSN newsroom after the taping because of critical comments made by Doyle regarding Gill’s assessment of Monday night’s Bulls-Denver game. A controversial call by the officials wiped out a potential game-winning basket by Joakim Noah in overtime. Gill had referred to the decision by the officials as “a very bad call.”

Per an eyewitness report, Gill approached Doyle and called him out for his comments, which escalated to a shoving match and ultimately Gill throwing a punch at Doyle. The two bumped up against a sign on the wall and a small amount of blood was drawn (though it was unclear exactly how) before the two were separated.

Reached by phone Wednesday morning, Gill said he was unable to talk about the incident that reportedly drew blood after a punch was thrown.

“We have to let everything play out,” he said.

Doyle could not be reached for comment and other employees at CSN have been told not to discuss the incident.
