Eagles give DeSean Jackson a 5-year $51-million contract

After an interesting season, DeSean Jackson has received a new contract from the Philadelphia Eagles. The team dropped the franchise tag on Jackson last week but today announced that they’ve signed the WR to a 5 year deal. The new contract is reportedly worth $51 million. With $15 million of that in guaranteed money.

“DeSean is a game breaker, he has the speed and ability to score from anywhere on the field, and he has proven himself to be a big threat for our offense. Signing our own players was a big priority for us this offseason and DeSean was certainly high on our list. We are very excited about his future as an Eagle.”

Jackson scored career lows last season with 58 catches for 961 yards and four TDs. It also marked the first time Jackson failed to reach 1,000 yards or make it to Pro Bowl since his rookie year.
