Mavs vs. Knicks: Lin-sanity, Novak and JR Smith get it done

The Knicks are coming together nicely and we could be watching the makings of a real contender in the East. After losing on Friday, the Knicks bounced back reloaded on Sunday afternoon against the Dallas Mavericks beating the champs 104-97. The game ball is split three ways. one third of course going to Jeremy lin, he was incredible and again made huge shots down the stretch. His stat line, 28 points, 14 assists, 4 rebounds, 5 steals AND 7 turnovers. Oh and Spike Lee was absolutely rocking Lin’s Harvard jersey.

Jr Smith made his debut at the Garden- with a new haircut, I promise you he was channeling Tupac’s role in Juice, Bishop. But beter than that, he was on fire scoring 15 points which included 3-three pointers.

But the surprise contributor, that game in the form of seldom used forward, Steve Novak. Novak chipped in 14 points and even hit the discount double check move (or Packers QB Aaron Rodgers celebration “dance”) following one of those baskets. Mind you, all of his points came in the fourth quarter, including four threes.

The Knicks expect Carmelo Anthony back this week before the All-Star break and Baron Davis- you remember him, the guy with the back issues- was in uniform but did not play.

The downside to Lin- mania? Lin has had to make a plea to the media in Taiwan to respect his families privacy there as they’re being bombarded since his NBA star has his the fast track.
