Allen Iverson To Suit Up In Puerto Rico

Allen Iverson could be making his return to basketball. No, not the NBA in Puerto Rico!!

The Puerto Rican league, which starts its 30-game season in March, pays its stars about $20,000 a month, plus living expenses. The league’s commissioner is selling Iverson on the chance to work his way back to a possible return to the NBA.

The league is hoping to convince Iverson to take a trip to the island and look closer at the possibility.

Ok, here’s the reality about playing in this particular league. It’s not a high profile league. And though several former NBA players have played in it (Antoine Walker, Robert “Tractor” Traylor was playing there when he passed last year) and currently,  Rashad McCants and Ike Diogu are signed to play in the upcoming season. It is not a premier destination. The draw is the money and the fact that it’s Puerto Rico.

It’s sad that AI is going out like this. but $40,000 for 2 months vacation, I say he takes it. But I don’t think it gets him any closer to the NBA. That’s a wrap.
